High-tech production to expand in Zaamin

    The Head of State reviewed a presentation on new projects planned for implementation in Zaamin Technopark.

    The technopark is being developed on a 400-hectare site. In the first phase, work has already begun on nine investment projects. As part of the second phase, five additional promising projects have been formulated.

    Specifically, joint production of medical and security equipment is planned with Longze Investment Group, as well as the manufacture of laptops, tablets, servers, and routers in cooperation with Foxit. In addition, projects are being planned for the production of leather and sports footwear, construction materials, porcelain tableware, and chemical products.

    The total value of these initiatives amounts to approximately $250 million. All projects will focus on producing high-value-added goods, with approximately 70 percent of the output intended for export.

    The volume of foreign investment attracted to Jizzakh region continues to grow annually. While only $18 million in foreign investment was utilized in the region in 2018, this figure exceeded $1 billion last year. Over the past eight years, $3.7 billion has been invested in the region, with more than 4,000 industrial enterprises commissioned, and the number of enterprises with foreign capital participation has surpassed 260.
