It is also reported that 26 people were injured due to the consequences of severe weather. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, and the death toll is expected to rise.
The natural disaster has affected 13 out of Afghanistan's 34 provinces, primarily in the western, central, and northwestern parts of the country, reported by report.az.
Hammad said: "Severe weather led to the complete or partial destruction of 147 houses, the ruin of 80 kilometers (approximately 50 miles) of roads, and damage to agricultural lands, irrigation canals, and businesses,".
According to weather forecasts, heavy rainfall is expected to continue, with a risk of further flooding in the eastern and central regions of the country.
