During the
talks, the sides discussed issues of further expanding bilateral cooperation,
strengthening trade and economic ties, as well as creating a favorable business
environment and investment climate in Tashkent.
It was
noted that the volume of trade relations between the two cities has shown
steady growth in recent years and increased by 58 percent.
Special
attention was paid to the issues of supporting Chinese investors and supporting
joint projects. The leadership of Tianjin supported the initiative of the
Tashkent khokimiyat to establish a permanent representative office for
operational interaction with investors from China and assistance in the
implementation of joint projects.
In
addition, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation with Tianjin Urban
Construction, which expressed interest in implementing projects for the
construction of a drainage system, sewage treatment plants and irrigation
infrastructure in Tashkent. It was emphasized that the company has significant
international experience in the field of urban engineering infrastructure.
The parties
noted that the active development of interregional cooperation became possible
due to the high level of bilateral relations and the political will of the
leaders of Uzbekistan and China.
