During the visit, negotiations were held between the leadership of the National University of Uzbekistan and the Chinese delegation headed by the President of the People's University of China, Professor Ma Huaide.
The event was also attended by diplomat of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Uzbekistan Song Chandong, Head of the Department of Science and Innovation Development of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Askarali Daminov, as well as Vice-rectors of the National University of Uzbekistan Ravshan Musurmanov and Komil Inakov.
The key event of the meeting was the official opening of the Uzbekistan-China Strategic Cooperation Research Center, established at the National University of Uzbekistan. Representatives of the two countries symbolically cut the ribbon, launching a new scientific and analytical center designed to become an important platform for the development of bilateral cooperation.
The main purpose of the center is to promote the implementation of joint projects in the field of sustainable development, regional research and analytical initiatives within the framework of the international concept "One Belt, One Road". During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of the center's activities and identified priority areas for future research.
The center's activities will be based on three key areas:
development of green energy and support for scientific research in this field;
training of highly qualified specialists and scientific staff;
strengthening and expanding cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
As part of the presentation program, Professor Xu Xinhua of the School of International Studies at the People's University of China made a presentation on the development of green energy. He presented an analysis of current trends in the energy sector and shared China's experience in implementing environmentally sustainable technologies.
The opening of the center was another step towards strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China, as well as expanding scientific and educational cooperation between the leading universities of the two countries.
