In her speech, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis emphasized that security, education, labor, digital rights, a healthy environment, and political freedom complement each other, and if none of them is ensured, the others will not be fully realized.

Over the course of two days, young parliamentarians discussed pressing issues of the day and shared their country’s experience. In particular, attention was focused on issues related to protecting young people’s rights in conflict situations, digital rights and security, climate change, decent labor and youth employment, political participation of young people and women, as well as preventing violence against them.

The conference featured open dialogues and panel discussions with the participation of representatives from the UN, the Inter‑Parliamentary Union, international and civic institutions, as well as parliamentarians from various countries. They emphasized the importance of broadly involving young people in decision‑making processes, ensuring young people’s political rights, and effectively harnessing the potential of the younger generation in addressing global problems.

Also, during a special open session on the topic “The Role of Parliaments in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals,” young parliamentarians, representatives of international organizations, and experts shared their views on the role and potential of the legislative branch in implementing the SDGs at the national level.

During the conference, the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, held meetings with the President of the Inter‑Parliamentary Union, Tulia Exon, and the Secretary‑General, Andra Filip; the Assistant Secretary‑General of the UN for Youth Affairs, Felipe Paulier, head of the UN Youth Office; and the Director‑General of the Sathya Sarathi Movement for Global Mercy, Asmita Sathya.

During the meetings, issues related to the further development of Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the Inter‑Parliamentary Union and the UN, strengthening parliamentary diplomacy, broadly involving young people in decision‑making processes, developing the activities of youth parliaments, and expanding international exchange of experience were discussed.

In addition, special attention was paid to issues related to the climate agenda, digital transformation, and support for youth initiatives aimed at the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

The conference participants also noted the important results of Uzbekistan’s consistent cooperation with the Inter‑Parliamentary Union. In particular, it was noted that the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter‑Parliamentary Union, which was held in Tashkent in 2025, as well as a number of international parliamentary events held in our country, raised bilateral relations to a new level.

The conference participants particularly noted that this prestigious international event was successfully organized at a high level, with a substantive exchange of views and a fruitful dialogue on pressing issues.
