According
to the press service of the Tashkent city Police Department, the reason for the
disagreement was the publication of their joint photos by Muhiddin on the
Instagram social network. After seeing the published pictures, Yasmina appealed
to the Department for Coordination of the Activities of the Internal Affairs
Bodies of the Mirzo-Ulugbek district with a statement about the posting of her
photos without consent.
Muhiddin
explained that he had no malicious intent, and asked the girl to withdraw the
application. In response, Yasmina demanded 10 million soums from him for
revoking the appeal.
When
receiving money from her former lover, the girl was detained by law enforcement
officers red-handed.
A criminal
case has been opened against Yasmina T., born in 2006, under article 165 of the
Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan ("Extortion").
Investigative actions are currently underway.
This case
shows that violating personal boundaries and insufficient legal literacy can
lead to serious consequences. Trying to protect her right to privacy, the girl
herself found herself suspected of committing a serious crime.
