The event was attended by the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant General Aziz Tashpulatov and Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov. They stressed that this project is an important practical step of the state policy aimed at supporting young people, protecting their interests and strengthening the principles of human dignity.

Recall that on February 24 this year, during the open dialogue between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and youth, initiatives were put forward aimed at supporting young people, realizing their potential and creating additional opportunities for their successful integration into society. As part of these initiatives, the launch of the Second Chance project was announced.

The aim of the project is to accelerate and effectively adapt young people serving sentences in correctional institutions to life in society after their release. The program provides 8-12 months of intensive training in areas such as programming, web design, computer engineering, modern digital professions, as well as foreign languages. This will allow participants to gain in-demand skills and ensure further employment.

The project is being implemented in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 117 "On measures to train young people in penitentiary institutions in modern professions." The initiative opens up new opportunities for participants and promotes their social adaptation.

At the initial stage, the working group, which included representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the Agency for Vocational Education, the Agency for Youth Affairs and other relevant organizations, studied the interests and abilities of the project participants.

For the organization of training in 10 correctional institutions of Tashkent, Kashkadarya and Navoi regions, 20 classrooms were equipped that meet sanitary and educational standards. The rooms are equipped with computers and necessary educational materials. After the testing, classes began.

Responsible departments were instructed to increase the intensity of training, attract specialists from the service sector, and expand educational areas taking into account the interests of participants.

The project is being implemented with the gratuitous support of Unicon-Soft. Program participants learn programming, web design, computer engineering, modern professions and foreign languages. They are also provided with social and legal support, and upon completion of their studies, they are awarded state-issued qualification certificates.

The Second Chance project is aimed at improving the knowledge and skills of young people, ensuring their employment, successful integration into society and creating conditions for a decent life. Its main goal is to give a new chance to those who have made mistakes in the past, but are striving to change their future and take their rightful place in society.
