In May 2005, at the World Health Assembly, health ministers from around the world unanimously adopted a statement of support for voluntary blood donation.
Since then, every year around the world, including in our country, the World Blood Donor Day is widely celebrated on June 14.
It should be noted that today in our country special attention is paid to the development of the gratuitous donor movement, its wide promotion among the population, strengthening the material and technical base of blood transfusion stations.
Currently, the collection of blood and its components is carried out at the Republican Blood Transfusion Center, at the NPP "Kon Preparatlari" in Tashkent, in 13 regional and 2 republican blood transfusion stations, as well as in 13 blood transfusion departments.
- According to WHO recommendations, the number of donations to provide the population with blood components should be at least 10 per 1,000 people, or 1 percent of the total population, - says the head of the Republican Blood Transfusion Center, Doctor of Medical Sciences A’lonur Saidov.
- In our country in 2022, this figure was almost 7.5 per 1000 people. As a result, 56030.0 liters of erythrocyte mass, 50996.7 liters of plasma, 1598.8 liters of thromboconcentrate and 4256 doses of cryoprecipitate were collected last year.
Of course, this indicator can be increased. But for this, it is extremely important to develop mobile donation in the country.
It is for this purpose that 13 mobile donor complexes - specially equipped Isuzu buses - have been transferred to the regional blood service institutions of the Republican Blood Transfusion Center this year.
These buses are equipped with special bunks, cold rooms, a blood container, a bactericidal lamp for air purification, air conditioning. In one bus, you can take blood from three donors at the same time.
In turn, the Ministry of Health calls on our compatriots to become donors and provide gratuitous assistance to patients in need of it.
