July 2 is the Day of adoption of the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan

    32 years ago, on July 2, 1992, the Law "On the State Emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was adopted.

    The coat of arms of our Motherland symbolizes the values of independence of our people, their confidence in a peaceful and free life, is an example of national pride and greatness, embodies the great past, the creative present and the aspiration for progressive future achievements.

    The sun rising over mountains, rivers and a blooming valley, and a crescent moon with a star enclosed in an octagon - a sign of the establishment of the republic - are a sign of the cohesion of our society and an expression of the people's hope for peace, goodness, happiness and prosperity. The legendary Humo bird with open wings is a symbol of luck and rebirth, nobility and dedication; it embodies the essence of the people's life, its rich history, filled with a strong spirit and eternal traditions.

    According to the Law, the National Coat of Arms is a symbol of the state sovereignty of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    All persons residing in Uzbekistan are obliged to honor the coat of arms of our state.

    According to the Criminal Code, abuse of the State Emblem is punishable by a fine of up to 25 BRV (8 million 500 thousand soums) or compulsory community service for up to 360 hours or correctional labor for up to 3 years.
