Issues related to the promotion of the peaceful political process in Afghanistan to establish sustainable and long-term peace in the country were discussed at the meeting.

Mullah Baradar expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for his constant attention to the problems of Afghanistan. The representative of Taliban Movement leadership welcomed the initiatives of Uzbekistan to implement important economic projects in Afghanistan in transport and energy.

He emphasized that major infrastructure projects implemented by Uzbekistan will contribute not only to the economic development of Afghanistan, but also to the creation of the necessary conditions for launching a full-fledged political process in the country. Thus, Afghanistan can become a bridge of trust and cooperation between Central and South Asia in the future.
