"In this context, it was stressed that a project to export Azerbaijani gas to Syria through Turkey will be implemented in the near future, which will contribute to ensuring the energy security of this country," the statement said.
Ilham Aliyev noted that under the previous government in Syria, which for many years pursued an unfriendly policy towards Azerbaijan, there was stagnation in bilateral relations.
