According to the Decree, starting from May 1, 2026, as an experiment, a "smart" migration point is being created in the migration and personalization units of the internal affairs bodies in one of the districts (cities) of the Tashkent, Samarkand and Ferghana regions, as well as the Republic of Karakalpakstan, operating on the basis of artificial intelligence technologies, which provides self-service facilities. At the same time:
At the initial stage, certain government services are provided at "smart" migration points;
The Ministry of Internal Affairs will expand the types of self-service services.
Starting from May 1, 2026, the Department and its territorial administrations are granted the right to extend once for up to 30 days the validity period of the electronic visa of foreign citizens and stateless persons who entered Uzbekistan on the basis of an electronic entry visa.
The authority to issue a confirmation to foreign citizens for the right to work in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan is also provided to the Department and its territorial departments.
Starting from September 1, 2026, a composite procedure for registration of students at the place of residence will be introduced simultaneously with the conclusion of an agreement on their accommodation in a student dormitory.
