    The population in two regions of Uzbekistan exceeded 4 million people. This is evidenced by the data of the Statistics Agency.

    In particular, as of October 1, 2023, 4,186,100 people live in the Samarkand region, 2,109,100 of them are men and 2,078,000 women.

    Also, the population of the Ferghana region amounted to 4,040,600 people, of which 2,038,700 were men, 2,001,900 were women.

    The permanent population as of October 1, 2023 in Uzbekistan amounted to 36,599,800 people, including 18,422,900 men and 18,176,900 women.

    Of these, the urban population of the republic has reached - 18,667,200 people, rural - 17,932,600 people.

    As of October 1, 2023, 32% of the permanent population of the republic were persons younger than working age, 56.5% - of working age and 11.5% - older than working age.
