The agenda included the election of members to the Disciplinary Committee, Ethics Committee, Appeals, Steering, Audit and Compliance Committees, as well as a discussion of proposals submitted by FIFA members and the Council, strengthening the global position against racism in football and consideration of proposals from member associations.
It was confirmed at the congress that the Women's World Cup will be expanded to 48 teams starting in 2031.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino, speaking about the new World Cup formats, noted that these tournaments will become the most diverse in history. This will allow many teams to prove themselves on the international stage, and such changes are aimed at popularizing football and expanding opportunities for all continents.
"Football unites the world. This game should bring joy. We must cover all regions in the development of football. This is our responsibility - the responsibility of the entire global football community," the FIFA president stressed.
The upcoming FIFA Club World Cup and the World Cup among national teams, which will be held next year, were also discussed during the congress.
According to the agenda, the 76th FIFA Congress will be held on April 30, 2026 in Vancouver, Canada.
