High-Pressure Natural Gas Obtained from New Well in Ustyurt

An industrial-scale flow of natural gas was obtained at evaluation and production well No. 19 in the "West Lower Surgil" field located in the Muynak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The daily flow rate (debit) of the well amounted to 400–500 thousand cubic meters.

This was reported by "Uzbekneftegaz" JSC.

It is noted that drilling operations conducted at this field by "Uzneftegaz Drilling Works" LLC were successfully completed despite complex geological conditions.

As a result of testing conducted by "Uzbekgeofizika" LLC, a flow of natural gas under high pressure was obtained from promising formations at a depth interval of 4,588–4,708 meters.

Currently, work is underway to technologically equip surface industrial facilities and construct gas pipelines and networks to deliver the new gas to consumers.

Additionally, final hydrodynamic studies are being carried out prior to commissioning the well.
