Within the framework of this visit, the Chinese delegation met with the leadership of Uzbekistan Airports. Foreign guests, including the secretary of the CPC City Committee of Jinhua and the mayor of Yiwu, as well as the president of China's largest railway carrier YiWu Timex Industrial Investment Co., Ltd., were presented with the capabilities of the new cargo terminal at Tashkent Airport.
During the tour, the partners visited storage facilities, both general-purpose and special - for storing plants and live animals, valuable goods, foodstuffs and medicines.
"The new cargo terminal in Tashkent was opened at the end of March this year and is designed to handle about 120,000 tons of cargo per year. If necessary, we are ready to expand and complete another warehouse. We are open to cooperation and are ready to create conditions for partners in order to develop cargo transportation volumes. We are ready to offer other regional airports that also have good potential," said Javlonbek Umarkhodjaev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports.
"We consider Uzbekistan as an important transhighway hub in the organization of a combined cargo transportation system from China to European countries. The country has a huge potential for development in this direction. At the same time, we are not only talking about air transportation, we are talking about multimodal cargo transportation by air, road and rail, which we are considering with the support of our partners, the company Centrum Holding," the representatives of the delegation noted.
In continuation of the conversation, the foreign partners, in addition to Tashkent, also emphasized the high interest in the Andijan region, which is attractive for its location as the closest point to China. During its stay in Uzbekistan, the delegation intends to visit the Andijan region and get acquainted with its capabilities in the field of multimodal cargo transportation development.
