According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Iftars are being held at a high level in major metropolises such as Mecca and Medina, Seoul, Istanbul and Ankara, Cairo, Amman, Kuala Lumpur, Washington, New York, and Toronto. The geography of the events is vast, with special programs developed for compatriots in 20 major cities in Russia and 10 in the United States.
The events are organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through embassies and consular offices abroad, in cooperation with the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and the Committee for Religious Affairs. At meetings featuring prominent scholars and imams, special attention is paid to the humanitarian essence of Islam, loyalty to national values, and the spiritual support of compatriots.
Furthermore, in support of the President's initiative, additional Iftars sponsored by compatriots will be organized in Dallas, Philadelphia, Orlando, Washington, Mecca, Novosibirsk, Tomsk, and Yekaterinburg. The main goal of these events is to provide spiritual support to citizens abroad and to further strengthen their sense of connection to their homeland.
