During the talks, the state and prospects for the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and China were discussed.

The Ministers discussed the practical implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level, the fulfillment of the tasks set by the leaders of the two states to further enhance bilateral relations in promising areas of cooperation.

The importance of the practical implementation of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway construction project, including the acceleration of the development of its feasibility study, was emphasized.

The sides exchanged views on deepening constructive dialogue within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the preparations for the Organization's Summit in Samarkand in September this year, as well as topical issues on the international and regional agenda.

The Ministers paid special attention to the mechanisms of interaction to ensure regional security, promote lasting peace in Afghanistan and restore its economy.
