In particular, meetings were held with the Minister of Economy, Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Slovenia, Matjaz Khan, the management of SID Bank, bilateral meetings and an expanded round table with the heads of major Slovenian companies.
At the meetings, the investment potential of Uzbekistan was presented, untapped resources for the development of industrial cooperation, preferential access to large regional markets and many other aspects of practical cooperation that can create the basis for effective collaboration between the business circles of the two countries were clearly demonstrated.
The reforms implemented in Uzbekistan were highly appreciated by the Slovenian side at both the governmental and business levels and expressed full readiness to scale up joint work at all points of intersection of interests and opportunities.
A number of agreements have been reached to increase mutual trade turnover to $ 500 million by expanding the range and volume of supplies of textile and fruit and vegetable products, mineral fertilizers, plastics, non-ferrous metals, building materials, pharmaceutical products, industrial equipment and other finished products with high added value.
At the same time, measures have been agreed to organize large clusters for the cultivation and cultivation of medicinal herbs, joint production of medicinal products and cosmetics, and the development of joint training programs to improve the skills of Uzbek specialists in the field of pharmaceuticals. The parties will accelerate work on signing an intergovernmental agreement on organized labor migration to recruit nurses and doctors from Uzbekistan.
