Islambek Ismailov: "Three years of work was both an honor and a test for me"

    The head coach of the Uzbekistan U17 national team Islambek Ismailov announced that he has concluded his three-year tenure with the team following the end of the World Cup.

    In his speech, he recalled this journey as "a journey travelled with heart." Following the national team's participation in the World Cup, he sincerely thanked all Uzbek football fans, coaches, and players.

    Referring to the 2025 Asian Championship title, he called this result "a history written by the courage and dedication of a generation." He stated, "These boys brought confidence, pride, and new hope to Uzbek football."

    In his words Ismailov emphasized that he adhered only to the criteria of fairness and integrity during player selection, and that every summoned footballer earned this formula through deserved hard work, asserting that "my head is high today and tomorrow."

    The head coach expressed sincere gratitude to his assistant coaches, the medical team, analysts, staff members, and everyone who supported them on this journey. "Without you, the strength and spirit of this journey would not have been so high", he wrote.

    Ismailov’s greatest pride is his disciples. He called them "my pride, my younger brothers" and expressed confidence in them, envisioning them as the main heroes on the grand stage of football in the future.

    At the end of the statement, he stressed that his path with the team has ended, but this is not the conclusion—it is a new beginning:

    "This door has closed, but another big road is opening to us. Thank you, Uzbekistan!"
