A multidisciplinary medical center with modern capabilities begins operation in Jizzakh

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the newly built multidisciplinary medical center of Jizzakh region.

The complex is significant because it enables the population to receive all necessary medical services in one place. The project represents the first stage in forming a medical cluster in the region.

The cluster-based approach used in modern medicine is recognized as the most effective model for rapid diagnostics, the introduction of high-tech treatment methods, and the reduction of bureaucratic procedures for patients.

The Head of State was presented with information about the institution’s capabilities. The President reviewed the conditions for patient treatment and the medical staff’s efficient work.

The center is housed in a modern seven-storey building and can receive up to 400 patients per day. The inpatient department includes 344 beds. More than 100 billion UZS have been allocated for the purchase of modern equipment, including MRI and MSCT systems, laboratory complexes, and high-tech surgical apparatus.

The placement of a polyclinic, as well as radiology, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and urology departments within a single complex will accelerate diagnostics and treatment, facilitate coordination among doctors, and ease patient movement. The new capabilities must significantly reduce waiting times for high-tech surgeries – one of the key social outcomes of the project.

With the launch of the center, the need for residents of Jizzakh region to seek care at national clinics or in neighboring regions will decrease by 75-80 percent.

As part of the medical cluster, long-term cooperation will be established with Kazan Federal University to enhance the qualifications of local specialists, introduce advanced diagnostic and treatment methods, and adopt modern medical standards.

The President spoke with leaders and employees of the healthcare system.

The Head of State emphasized the need to abandon outdated approaches in managing medical clusters and multidisciplinary clinics, and to introduce new mechanisms, including engaging international experts and leading managers in each medical field, providing on-site training and professional development, expanding digitalization, and applying artificial intelligence. It was noted that Jizzakh should become an example of this new approach.

Particular attention was given to public satisfaction with the quality of medical services. The President emphasized that human dignity and honor must lie at the foundation of any reform.

“People are concerned not so much about the building or the conditions as about the quality of services, the knowledge, professionalism, and integrity of the doctor. When a patient comes to a hospital, they expect, above all, attention, an accurate diagnosis, and fast, high-quality treatment. Therefore, the main task is to create a medical system where people are served with sincerity, and specialists possess high qualifications and competencies”.

A conversation was also held with lecturers and students of the Jizzakh branch of Kazan Federal University. It was emphasized that it is necessary to increase the number of practical classes and to continuously familiarize students with the achievements of global medicine and leading international experience.
