Organized by the Special
Operations Forces Command of the South Korean Army, the competition took place
from September 3 to 10 in the city of Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province. This marks
the third time the Uzbekistan national team has participated in the event.
A total of 28 sniper teams
from 8 countries competed in the tournament, including 15 teams from South
Korea, 3 from Uzbekistan, 3 from Vietnam, 2 each from the UAE and Mongolia, and
1 each from Turkey, Cambodia, and Kazakhstan.
Throughout the competition,
participants completed a total of 20 special tactical exercises. Competitors
engaged targets at various distances across urban, mountainous, and forested
environments using pistols, assault rifles, and sniper weapons.
A unique feature of this
year's competition was that none of the exercises repeated last year's
conditions, and the terms and rules of the tasks were kept secret from
participants until the exercises began. Additionally, 40 percent of the targets
consisted of moving and aerial drone targets.
The tournament tested the
snipers' high level of concentration, endurance, and ability to execute complex
exercises under severe stress, both during the day and at night.
According to the final
results, the Uzbekistan team recorded the highest score among the 13 sniper
teams representing foreign countries:
Uzbekistan — 678.4 points
Vietnam — 666.6 points
Turkey — 471.1 points
As a reminder, the team
consisting of military personnel from the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan
previously secured second place in 2024 and first place in 2025 at this
competition.
The winners of the
competition will be warmly welcomed on September 11 at the Islam Karimov
Tashkent International Airport.
