Kyrgyzstan exchanged conflict areas on the border with Tajikistan

As part of the delimitation of the border with Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan exchanged sites where conflict situations periodically arose.

According to Report, Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov stated this in an interview with the Kabar state news agency.

"Both sides were not guided by strategic goals when exchanging land. We changed only those areas where there were constant conflicts," he said, commenting on the border delimitation document signed with Tajikistan on February 21.

According to him, the land plots exchanged between the countries are either enclaves or staggered along the border.

As the President of Kyrgyzstan assured, the issue of the border with Tajikistan is "resolved forever."

"That's it, the point has been made, the interests of both sides have been taken into account. There is still much to be said about the border. But it's not the time yet. Let it all end, and then we'll say it. Then history will judge us. I am sure that she will give us an excellent grade, Sadyr Japarov emphasized.
