A regular meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish strategic planning group was held in Ankara under the chairmanship of the Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov and Turkey Hakan Fidan.

During the talks, the results of the achievements of bilateral cooperation were summed up, short-term and long-term goals were outlined. The Ministers reviewed the schedule of upcoming high-level contacts, issues of expanding the legal framework of relations, the implementation of all agreements reached at the highest level. As a result of the event, a Plan of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Turkey for 2024-2025 and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Academy of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and the Diplomatic Academy of the Turkish Foreign Ministry were signed.

During the visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan was received by Vice President of Turkey Cevdet Yilmaz, held separate meetings with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmus, President of the Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination Serkan Kayalar and Rector of Ankara University Necdet Unuvar.

A wide range of issues on the Uzbek-Turkish agenda were discussed at the talks. Special attention is paid to the activation of economic diplomacy by creating favorable conditions for mutual trade, expanding cooperation in the textile industry, implementing new investment projects, and building up interregional partnership. The sides exchanged views on strengthening ties in the field of science and education, mitigating the consequences of the Aral Sea disaster, and promoting efficient agriculture. It was noted that the dialogue between the parliaments of the two countries is steadily developing, playing an important role in the implementation of previously reached agreements.

In Ankara, with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, a round table on the topic "Crossroads of Civilizations: New Uzbekistan" was organized with the participation of a number of Turkish travel companies. The Minister informed the participants of the event about the latest trends in the development of the tourism industry of Uzbekistan, as well as promising areas of cooperation in this area.

The head of the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan also met with the heads of a number of major Turkish companies to discuss the possibilities of establishing partnerships, attracting advanced and innovative technologies to the economy of our country, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reports.
