    The President of Uzbekistan receives the delegation from the United States Congress

    On March 17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, received a delegation from the United States led by Carol Miller, a member of Congress and participant in the Congressional Caucus on Uzbekistan.

    Issues of further developing and deepening strategic partnership and multifaceted interaction between Uzbekistan and the United States were discussed.

    Congresswoman Miller conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to the President on behalf of the President of the United States, Congressional leadership, and members of the Caucus on Uzbekistan.

    The achieved high level of bilateral cooperation was expressed with deep satisfaction. Active political contacts and interagency exchanges continue, trade and investment volumes have multiplied in recent years, and business collaboration has intensified significantly.

    Webster University and the American University of Technology are currently operating in Tashkent.

    Additionally, mutually beneficial cooperation is being carried out in transportation, customs, migration, culture, and other priority areas.

    Carol Miller praised the results of the reform strategy being implemented in New Uzbekistan, including the modernization of the economy, the strengthening of democratic institutions, especially parliament, and the promotion of gender equality.

    Special attention was given to enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation to support and promote economic and investment projects in sectors such as mining, industry, energy, and agriculture.

    The importance of establishing the partnership between regions of Uzbekistan and the United States was also emphasized.

    Views were exchanged on current issues of the regional agenda and the situation in Afghanistan.
