In accordance with the program, talks will be held in Islamabad with the President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chief of Army Staff of the Armed Forces, Field Marshal Asim Munir, as well as the first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council.
The upcoming high-level contacts will focus on deepening the strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
Key aspects of strengthening political dialogue, intergovernmental, inter-parliamentary, business, and interregional ties will be comprehensively reviewed.
The parties will pay particular attention to increasing bilateral trade turnover, advancing joint projects in industry, transport, and infrastructure, as well as in tourism, and continuing cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
An exchange of views will take place on current aspects of the international and regional agenda.
Following the talks, a Joint Declaration and a substantial package of agreements are expected to be signed.
The President of Uzbekistan will also take part in a joint business forum for representatives of the two countries’ leading business circles.
