The President of Uzbekistan notes the vast opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation with Guangdong province

    On January 25, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Secretary of the Guangdong Party Committee Huang Kunming, in Shenzhen.

    Guangdong is one of the most developed provinces of China, forming about 10 percent of the country’s GDP and leading in this indicator in the People’s Republic of China. The province is also the most significant economic partner of the Uzbekistan regions.

    At the meeting, practical aspects of enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation with the province, primarily in high-tech industries, were discussed.

    The fruitful talks that took place the day before with the President of China Xi Jinping were noted with satisfaction, within which further enhancing interregional contacts was supported.

    Particular attention was paid to the issues of deepening industrial cooperation, including creating specialized high-tech parks in the regions of Uzbekistan for leading Guangdong companies.

    In this context, the vital role of Guangdong province in the activities of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and China was noted, an agreement on the creation of which was reached during the summit held the day before.

    Interest in increasing interaction with flagship companies in the province, such as Huawei, BYD, ZTE, and others, was emphasized.

    Cooperation issues in IT education and the launch of direct flights were considered to enhance humanitarian ties and business exchanges.
