The President of Uzbekistan noted with satisfaction the dynamic development of mutually beneficial cooperation with Qatar

    On April 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the delegation of the State of Qatar led by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

    The delegation of Qatar is in Uzbekistan to participate in the next Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf” Dialogue.

    Prime Minister Mohammed Al Thani conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the Amir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the Leader of Uzbekistan.

    Current issues of enhancing bilateral cooperation were discussed, primarily in trade, economic, investment, transport, and communications spheres.

    The President of Uzbekistan noted with particular satisfaction the observed intensive political dialogue and the dynamic growth in the volume of mutual trade and investment.

    Leading Qatari companies are participating in major investment projects. Events are being held within the framework of cultural and humanitarian exchange. In October, Uzbekistan will host Qatar Culture Week.

    Promoting joint investment projects and developing effective mechanisms for their financial support was emphasized.

    Issues of accelerating the practical implementation of the Trans-Afghan Railway construction project were considered.

    Views were exchanged on regional issues, including the severe escalation of the situation in the Middle East.
