The President of the Republic of Korea extended birthday congratulations to the Leader of Uzbekistan, wishing him good health, well-being, and new significant achievements in his state activities, as well as peace and prosperity to the people of Uzbekistan.
In turn, the President of Uzbekistan once again sincerely congratulated the President of South Korea on his decisive victory in the recent presidential election and wished him great success in implementing his outlined plans.
The leaders held a substantive discussion on further strengthening the special strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea and expanding multifaceted cooperation.
The consistent development of bilateral relations, based on historic ties of friendship, shared mentality, traditions, and values, was noted with deep satisfaction.
In recent years, there has been steady growth in mutual trade turnover and the number of joint ventures. The volume of direct investment by Korean companies and organizations in Uzbekistan’s economy has exceeded $8 billion.
Fruitful financial and technical cooperation continues with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
The leaders of the two countries emphasized the importance of shaping a new agenda for bilateral partnership and maintaining active high-level contacts.
In this context, particular attention was given to the effective organization of the upcoming sessions of the Strategic Dialogue between Foreign Ministers and the Intergovernmental Commission.
An exchange of views took place on issues of regional interaction, including within the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” format.
