In the presence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the European Council, António Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, an Agreement was signed on the establishment of a regional office of the European Investment Bank (EIB) in Uzbekistan.
Founded in 1958, the European Investment Bank is the EU’s leading financial institution.
It is noteworthy that the opening of the office in Tashkent will enhance mutually beneficial cooperation and increase the volume of investment directed toward the development of the green economy, innovative industries, and modern infrastructure in Uzbekistan and the broader Central Asian region.
During a telephone conversation held on April 26, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, discussed further strengthening friendship, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, together with the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, visited the exhibition “Mirages of Time” organized at the International Tourist Center in Samarkand.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, jointly planted an oak tree in the Alley of Honorary Guests at the Congress Center in the city of Samarkand.
Following the bilateral talks, a solemn ceremony was held to present the highest state award of the Republic of Uzbekistan – the “Highest Degree of Friendship” Order (“Oliy Darajali Do‘stlik”) – to the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
On April 24, at the Congress Center of the Silk Road Samarkand complex, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, held bilateral talks in a contracted format and with the participation of official delegations.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, jointly participated in cultural events held at the historical and ethnographic park “Eternal City”, located within the Silk Road Samarkand International Tourist Center.
As part of the event program in Samarkand, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, visited the Hazrati Khizr complex together to pay tribute to the First President of Uzbekistan.
