The development of regions based on growth points and the creation of decent living conditions are key priorities of state policy. These principles are reflected in the transformations taking place in Parkent district.
The residential complex being built along the stream “Parkentsoy”, which flows through the district center, can rightfully be called an eco-town. Covering an area of 6 hectares, the project envisions constructing 125 apartment buildings, totaling 5,200 apartments. All buildings will be equipped with modern engineering infrastructure and energy-efficient technologies. Notably, rooftop geo-collectors will be installed to utilize renewable energy sources for water heating.
Such complexes are particularly relevant for densely populated areas, as they provide high-quality, comfortable, and affordable housing for the population.
The project also includes constructing two schools, eight kindergartens, children’s and sports playgrounds, a 10-hectare park, an artificial lake, recreational areas, and bicycle paths. The road infrastructure will be improved by renovating 17 kilometers of roads.
In addition, the new residential area is designed not only for comfortable living but also to foster entrepreneurship. A total of 58 non-residential buildings will be constructed to house retail outlets and service facilities, with more than 700 new jobs expected to be created.
The President was also briefed on a presentation outlining the district’s development prospects. One of the key projects is constructing the electrified railway line “Baytkurgan – Parkent”. Nearly 24 kilometers of track have already been laid. Once operational, the railway will significantly improve access to the district’s scenic areas and boost tourism. According to projections, the route will accommodate up to 275,000 passengers daily.
Information was also presented regarding the improvement of the Parkentsoy streambed and the reinforcement of its banks. In the first phase, 4 kilometers of the streambed were entirely lined with concrete, creating opportunities for new construction projects. A 5-kilometer road, parallel to the district’s main street, was laid along the stream, with a traffic capacity of up to 10,000 vehicles per day. This will significantly reduce congestion in the town center and alleviate traffic pressure. Additionally, sidewalks, an overpass, and a bridge were constructed.
The second phase envisions extending the improvement of the streambed up to the settlement of Kumushkon, as well as the development of tourist infrastructure on the newly available 100-hectare area.
The President instructed the refinement of all presented projects, considering advanced urban planning practices and modern sustainability standards.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also met with local community representatives during his visit.
“Our greatest wealth is the peace and stability in our country”, the President emphasized. “Where there is stability, there will be development and progress. We are mobilizing all government agencies, unlocking the potential of each region, and striving for the harmonious development of all territories. I am pleased to see that the spirit of renewal has reached Parkent, and the results of the reforms here are already yielding tangible benefits. Our people deserve to live in prosperous, modern, and comfortable conditions”.
Elders from the community spoke about the wide-ranging opportunities for the district’s development and the positive changes in people’s lives.
