The victim of rocket attack in Israel was not a citizen of Uzbekistan – Embassy

In recent days, reports have been circulating in a number of media outlets and social networks about a man who died on March 9, 2026, as a result of a rocket attack on a construction site in the city of Yehud in Israel.

In connection with this incident, the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the State of Israel informs that the deceased, 62-year-old Rustam Gulomov, was born and raised in Uzbekistan. In 2017, he renounced his citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan. He has been living in Israel for the last 14 years and has obtained citizenship of that country.

The Embassy expresses its deep condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

As of March 11, the Embassy had received no reports of injuries to Uzbek citizens.

Given that the situation in Israel remains tense, the Embassy once again calls on all compatriots who temporarily work or permanently reside in this country to be attentive to warning signals, as well as strictly observe safety requirements and rules to preserve life and health.
