The President of the Senate took part in the Forum of Women Parliamentarians in Geneva

    The parliamentary delegation of Uzbekistan, led by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbayeva, took part in the Forum of Women Parliamentarians in Geneva, held within the framework of the 151st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

    The forum was dedicated to the theme "Solidarity and inspiration: supporting women on their journey." During the event, issues of global importance aimed at increasing the political, social and economic activity of women were discussed.

    In her speech, Tanzila Narbayeva stressed the importance of empowering women, realizing their potential and strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.

    The forum participants also highlighted the high level of organization of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union, held in Tashkent in April this year, and recognized the special role of the Forum of Women Parliamentarians held within the framework of this Assembly and the historical significance of the Tashkent Declaration.

    It was about the voice, the dreams of every woman and the spirit of solidarity of the world community. It was noted that Uzbekistan promotes an integrated approach aimed at realizing the potential of women. Initiatives were expressed to strengthen inter-parliamentary cooperation in this area, expand knowledge and leadership opportunities, as well as provide practical assistance to women in crisis situations.

    The speakers emphasized that supporting women and strengthening their role in society is not only a national interest, but also a strategic task on the way to the common progress of mankind and the achievement of peace.
