At the 19th
plenary session of the Senate, the issue of changing the boundaries of the city
of Zarafshan and the Tamdinsky District of the Navoi Region was discussed.
It was
noted that this initiative was developed with the aim of ensuring the long‑term development of the city of Zarafshan, the effective use of the
territory’s economic potential, attracting investment, creating decent living
conditions for the population, and generating new jobs.
The
resolution provides for the transfer of 2,459 hectares of land from the Tamdy
district to the city of Zarafshan.
As a result
of the development of new territories, it is planned to implement more than 250
industrial and production projects, create 90 social facilities, and establish
more than 500 retail, household, and service outlets.
As a result
of the expansion of industrial and production capacities, an increase in
population and economic activity in the city of Zarafshan, the need for
housing, social services, and engineering and communications infrastructure is
also growing. In this context, the expansion of the city’s boundaries creates
the necessary territorial opportunities for its future development.
At the same
time, in the new territories, along with the construction of residential
buildings, opportunities will be created to provide the population with the
necessary engineering and utility infrastructure facilities, drinking water and
electricity, roads, a sewage system, and other engineering and communication
infrastructure facilities.
This, in
turn, opens up new opportunities to ensure employment for the population,
especially for young people and citizens entering the labor market.
In their
speeches, the senators emphasized the importance of comprehensive and planned
development of new territories, noting that their incorporation into the city
should not be limited to mere administrative transformation but should be
accompanied by the creation of the necessary conditions for the full‑fledged development of these territories.
Following
the discussion, the Senate adopted the relevant resolution.
