Festive atmosphere in a landscaped mahalla

During his visit to Bektemir district in the capital, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev toured the Iykota mahalla to inspect the ongoing development and improvement activities.

The mahalla has approximately 6,000 residents, with 37 apartment buildings and 1,400 individual houses. As part of the nationwide targeted mahalla development program, new housing has been constructed in Iykota, roads, and sidewalks have been renovated, and courtyards and green spaces have been landscaped.

Last year, a three-story mahalla administration building was constructed, and this year, a new public school No. 358 was commissioned with funding from the state budget. The President visited the new educational facility.

The school, designed to accommodate nearly 1,000 students, has modern classrooms for various subjects, laboratories, computer rooms, a foreign language learning center, a robotics club, and a library. Additionally, a sports hall, football field, and a spacious cafeteria provide comfortable conditions for students.

During his conversation with teachers, the President emphasized the importance of identifying children’s talents, developing a vocational training system, and preparing young people for independent life. Special attention was given to expanding educational programs in information technology, engineering, and robotics and fostering patriotic values among teenagers.

Two private kindergartens have opened on the ground floors of newly built apartment buildings, serving as a festive gift for parents ahead of Navruz.

The mahalla is actively implementing the principle of maximizing internal resources to ensure employment. It is home to 70 trade and service outlets and two manufacturing enterprises, contributing to job creation.

As part of the month-long development and improvement campaign initiated by the President, mahalla residents are actively engaged in agriculture, efficiently utilizing their household plots for cultivating crops.
