    President reviews modern shopping center

On March 20, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev inspected the ongoing development and improvement projects in Tashkent.

Thanks to the favorable investment climate created in the country, the share of the private sector in the economy continues to grow. Foreign direct investments are being attracted, and promising projects are being implemented in industry, construction, trade, and services.

One such project is the High Town City complex, built in the capital’s Yunusabad district. This multifunctional facility includes a shopping and entertainment center, business center, hotel, and modern residential complexes. The project was realized with $510 million in foreign investments.

The Head of state inspected the facilities available at the center. The four-story building houses shops, including boutiques of well-known brands, restaurants and cafes, entertainment zones, sports facilities, and cinemas. An underground parking area has also been developed within the complex.

The complex can accommodate up to 5,000 visitors per day, and its infrastructure is designed for shopping, comfortable recreation, and sports activities. The project has resulted in the creation of 1,500 jobs.

The President highlighted the economic significance of the facility and its convenience for residents, emphasizing that supporting investors and entrepreneurs will remain a strategic priority of government policy. He also issued directives to promote national brands and expand their presence in international markets.

A cozy bookstore has been opened in the shopping center. Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed this initiative and suggested organizing compact bookstores in metro stations and waiting areas to encourage reading culture.

During his visit to the children’s play area, the President warmly interacted with the children. He emphasized that all current efforts are aimed at the country’s future and that children must receive quality education and develop their intellectual and creative abilities.

As part of the complex, a 24-story five-star hotel is planned for construction soon. The hotel will feature 250 rooms and can accommodate 430 guests simultaneously. It will also include modern conference halls, swimming pools, restaurants, and shops.

The Head of state got acquainted with a project to construct new residential buildings in the area. Under this project, 28 high-rise buildings with 1,500 apartments will be built. The complex’s courtyard will be designed as an entirely pedestrian and green zone, free of vehicles. The project includes a kindergarten, playgrounds, a tennis court, and an underground parking facility. The entire area will be covered with Wi-Fi, and silent elevators will be installed in the buildings.

Projects for developing public transportation, including expanding the metro network, were also reviewed.

As planned, the Tashkent Metro was set to extend to the Tashkent Tractor Plant. However, the President instructed officials to reassess the initial proposals and present alternative options.

Under the newly revised project, 10 stations will be constructed from the Buyuk Ipak Yuli station to the Tashkent Tractor Plant. This expansion will serve 30 mahallas and provide convenient transportation for 148,000 residents.

Additionally, as part of the new project, the Bektemir district will see the construction of high-rise residential buildings and commercial and service facilities near the Chirchiq River. This initiative aims to accelerate urbanization in the district and establish a new urban center.
