The President reviewed development efforts in the mahalla

During his visit to Syrdarya region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the ongoing development work in Buston mahalla of the city of Gulistan.

The Buston mahalla has been improved this year. All apartment buildings were renovated, and a new building for the mahalla center was commissioned.

The President first held a dialogue here with the mahalla activists, veterans, and youth. It was emphasized that the results of reforms aimed at addressing grassroots issues, improving mahallas, and enhancing living conditions are also reflected in Syrdarya region.

“The mahalla is the face of society. All changes in the country are reflected here first. We have created a system in which many issues that were once considered serious are now handled directly within the mahalla. We will continue strengthening this institution”, the President noted.

To improve the heating supply, a modern boiler house was built for 18 billion UZS, and 3.3 kilometers of heating networks were laid.

Twenty-three individual heating units were installed in apartment buildings, enabling the establishment of a closed heating system. Using local budget funds, the internal heating systems of 20 multi-storey buildings comprising 800 apartments were restored. The preschool educational institution was provided with centralized heating and hot water.

The newly built boiler house will save 144,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity and 627,000 cubic meters of natural gas.

The President gave the necessary instructions on continuing efforts to create comfortable living conditions for residents of multi-storey buildings, to use modern technologies in the construction and operation of boiler houses, and to engage qualified specialists.

A conversation was also held here with representatives of the “mahalla of seven” group and the older generation about the changes taking place in the mahalla’s and the region’s lives.

Based on the resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the development of infrastructure in Syrdarya region, a targeted list of 215 multi-storey buildings has been compiled in the region. Under this program, work is underway to repair roofs and facades, improve heating supply, upgrade engineering communications, and enhance the surrounding area.
