The IsDB President sincerely congratulated Uzbekistan on the successful organization of the forum and reaffirmed the IsDB’s commitment to fully supporting efforts to reduce poverty in the country.
The issues related to the expansion of comprehensive cooperation with the Bank Group to promote the implementation of Uzbekistan’s irreversible reform strategy were discussed.
It was noted with particular satisfaction that the partnership with the IsDB has been developing dynamically in recent years. The joint project portfolio has exceeded $5 billion and currently covers priority areas such as transportation, infrastructure, housing construction, energy, healthcare, and education. At the same time, more than 40 percent of investments are directed to the private sector.
The President of Uzbekistan advocated for the adoption of a long-term Strategic Partnership Program with the IsDB, which provides for doubling the project portfolio, increasing the volume of financing for infrastructure, social, and private sector projects.
Special attention was paid to the promotion of specific projects aimed at unlocking the potential of private business, building modern medical centers in the country’s regions, modernizing highways, restoring and concreting irrigation canals, and other areas.
