International Companies Invest in Uzbekistan: Ferghana Valley Locates Growing NamAgro Tech Complex

In 2019, up to 2,000 hectares were allocated in Namangan region for making orchards and 4 hectares were allocated in the free economic zone for the construction of Siberian Wellness production unit.

Thus, an international manufacturer of products for health and beauty began to develop a new business direction, which is a novelty for the Company, and an actively growing agricultural and industrial production unit appeared in the Ferghana Valley.

    Prehistory

Siberian Wellness International Company produces dietary supplements, natural cosmetics, sports and functional nutrition and selective perfumes in Russia, Serbia, Italy, and now in our country. For 27 years, the Company's effective solutions have gained popularity in 60+ countries around the world. In particular, Siberian Wellness has been widely represented in Uzbekistan for 15 years: Products are available in any place of the country and via delivery from the E-shop.

Having established itself as a reliable, environmentally and socially responsible brand, Siberian Wellness has found a way to implement in our country one of the main competencies of the team – the ability to make long-term plans, overcome crises and achieve successful implementation of large-scale projects. This is how NamAgro Tech appeared, Siberian Wellness agricultural division with its own production unit.

    415 Hectares of Change

An international team of specialists took over making intensive orchards on the allocated site, experts from Uzbekistan and France were involved. The Europeans appreciated the attractiveness of the local climate, the soil suitable for the growth of stone trees and the amount of sun necessary for the ripening of fruits of the highest quality. It is also important that the lands on which the orchards are located are removed from any potential sources of soil, water and air pollution. The main problem is the lack of water. In order to solve it, the Company has explored water reserves, drilled wells, and built reservoirs. Today, Siberian Wellness orchards are gradually becoming independent of water. To deliver reviver to each tree, drip irrigation and plant fertilization technology was purchased from one of the leading manufacturers. Modern software allows one to perfectly calculate the composition of the mixture. At the same time, the concept of organic farming implies minimizing the use of harmful chemical compounds both for fertilizing and for protection from possible pests.

At the moment, 9 types of fruit trees are harvested on an area of 415 hectares: Apricots (28 varieties), peaches, nectarines, pears, almonds, plums, grapes, apples, and cherries. Seedlings for them were cultivated in the best nurseries in Spain, France and Uzbekistan. Local selection of European varieties makes it possible to improve their quality. It takes three to four years to form the crown of the trees – giving it a shape that opens the fruit to the sun as much as possible. Pruning allows one to keep the optimal quantity of fruit on the crown – this is the only way to achieve the desired size and taste. This year, a harvest of 1,000 tons of fruits with ideal characteristics is planned.

There is full-scale automation in the orchards, it is planned to collect a huge amount of information – from climatic indicators to the number of bees. In the future, an interactive map will allow one to see the state of the orchard in retrospect and have the clearest possible idea of its development and plant health. It is planned to use the features of artificial intelligence to analyze the maximum amount of data and make the right decisions in no time.

Agriculture accounts for a quarter of Uzbekistan's economy. "The well–being of our people, price stability, and employment are connected with it," highlighted President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at a meeting on the efficiency of land and water resources use. Therefore, it is worth noting that 80 full-time specialists are already working in the orchards, up to 200 people are involved during seasonal work, while the orchard is constantly growing. The harvested crop is partially processed, but most of it goes both to the domestic market and for export. Fruits are sent to Russian federal networks, and the first contract for the supply of NamAgro Tech products to the UAE has been signed.

    More Than Just Recycling

Another 90 Uzbek citizens are employed in the production unit, which was built by the Company on one of the 4-hectare plots. First of all, the Company launched a line for the production of concentrated fruit juices – local farmers received raw materials orders, processing takes place in three shifts during the season. The resulting concentrate is in demand in high-tech industries with high quality requirements.

Meanwhile, NamAgro Tech is rising to new levels of development. In May 2024, a production line was launched, which produces Siberian Wellness products. At the moment, the pectin production line is already in the final stage of assembly – this promising product is in great demand in the world. At the same time, Siberian Wellness team has found technologies that make it possible to produce it efficiently and safely, which will not only gain a competitive advantage, but also preserve the ecosystem of the Fergana Valley.

    When Responsibility is a Model

Siberian Wellness creates centers of intellectual and industrial value in various countries, which are equally consistent, first of all, with the Company's policy regarding minimizing the impact on the nature of the planet. The team uses the same approach in Uzbekistan: NamAgro Tech is aimed at saving natural resources, specialists carefully monitor environmental safety. We train each orchard worker, including how to act in accordance with environmental standards.

Equally important is the concern for quality and safety. First of all, Siberian Wellness production unit in Uzbekistan has been certified: In addition to confirming environmental safety, the requirements of the highest food safety standard FSSC 22000 have been met. Halal certificate has been obtained for the entire range in accordance with the standards of the CIS countries and the Arab Gulf, Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia. And at the Halal forum, held this year in Tashkent, a report was presented according to which demand for products certified according to this standard is growing not only in traditionally interested countries, but also in Europe, North and Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, China, India and Thailand. In addition, NamAgro Tech orchards have confirmed compliance with the requirements of Global G.A.P., a certificate confirming the use of appropriate methods of agricultural production. All this guarantees the highest level of quality and safety of products manufactured in Uzbekistan.

    Global Development Goals

One of the important components of the state strategy for the development of the country's economy is to increase exports. And NamAgro Tech team aims to expand the range of orchards (their area is planned to soon increase to 2,000 hectares), as well as products produced in Uzbekistan, taking into account the requirements of the foreign market. Blends of concentrated apple juices are created from sour, which are popular in Russia and Belarus, to sweet, which are appreciated in the UAE and other Eastern countries. The Company has big plans for pectin, which is also planned to be produced in the Namangan production unit. And of course, Siberian Wellness is determined to continue to make innovations in the field of maintaining health and prolonging youth available, to please fans of the brand in Uzbekistan with novelties of dietary supplements and pure herbal cosmetics.
