Saida Mirziyoyeva visited Urgut, having traveled from Samarkand by a new railway. In her Telegram channel, she noted that this railway will become an important element of the infrastructure and will contribute to the formation of a free economic zone.
"I got acquainted with the project to create trade, logistics and medical centers on the Uzbek-Tajik border. The main goal is to transform the territory from a transit point into a full-fledged location of economic activity.
The new logistics center is designed to service up to 100 trucks per day. At the same time, logistics will perform not only the function of transportation, but also increase the added value of products. Customs procedures will become transparent, and paperwork will be faster.
It is also planned to build a diagnostic center that will be able to serve about 200 patients daily, and a shopping center with the possibility of work for 800 entrepreneurs.
The implementation of the project will allow Tajik citizens to use trade and medical services without going through passport control, unnecessary documents and long queues, which will significantly simplify cross-border interaction and strengthen economic ties between the regions," the head of the Presidential Administration wrote.
