A large-scale cultural project "The Mission of the Russian Theater Abroad - The Hearts of Four" has been completed in Samarkand. Representatives of 12 Russian theaters from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan gathered in the cultural capital of the CIS.

The project took place at the site of the Samarkand Regional Russian Drama Theater. The organizer is the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan.

"The project has more than met expectations: there are big plans for cooperation with colleagues from neighboring countries. All three days were very interesting and informative classes. The training was informal, there was a lot of practical information and discussions. We shared our experience with colleagues, learned how the work of the theater is developing in each of the countries. An interesting, vibrant cultural program. I remember visiting the historical costume theater "El Merosi". It seems to me that such a project can be successfully implemented in Kyrgyzstan. We also have something to show," said Sergey Bardakov, director of the State National Russian Drama Theater named after Ch. Aitmatov.

During the project, GITIS teachers conducted master classes for managers, directors and directors of Russian theaters. In addition, a panel discussion on the topic "The mission of the Russian Theater" took place.

"What is the mission of the Russian Drama Theater? We talked about this with directors from all four countries, we tried to find a common point of reference. It is very important to understand how and why Russian theaters exist here in Central Asia," said Irina Khilkova, the project coordinator.
