The cherry export season has started in Uzbekistan

    A few days ago, Uzbek exporters began shipping cherries of the new crop to foreign markets. The export of fresh cherries from Uzbekistan in 2022 started literally from the first days of May this year - 4-5 days earlier than last year, and according to EastFruit analysts, from May 1 to May 4, 2022, about 350-400 tons of these products have already been shipped to foreign markets.

    According to the producers, by the end of April - beginning of May, the cherry of the "Bahor" variety (translated from Uzbek - "Spring") ripened in Uzbekistan, from which the season of shipment of new harvest cherries to foreign markets begins.

    According to the head of one of the export companies of Uzbekistan - director of LLC "Rizq Agro Group" Urinbayev Shakhboz from the Fergana region, cherries of caliber from 20 to 26 mm are currently offered for export. Depending on the quality and type of packaging, shipping prices for cherry caliber are closer to the upper limit of the specified range, fluctuate in the conversion of 50-70 thousand soums / kg, taking into account the packaging and the costs of product refinement.

    Uzbekistan is one of the largest exporters of cherries on the world market and ranks 5th in the world in terms of exports of these products last year. In physical terms, exports doubled to 60.1 thousand tons (worth $ 83.1 million) against 29.3 thousand tons (worth $ 56.4 million) in 2020.
