President Shavkat Mirziyoyev gets acquainted with construction, landscaping and enterprises’ activities in Tashkent.

A year ago, the President became familiar with the project of a road and an overpass that will connect Sergeli district with the center of the capital. On December 26 last year, the bridge along Kipchak Street, which is an important part of this road, was opened. Today, a new road and another bridge to Choponota Street are being built from this bridge.

The length of the bridge over the Small Ring Road and Salar Canal will be 788 meters, and taking into account the exits – 950 meters.

The Head of the state got acquainted with the construction process.

The structure is being built using advanced engineering solutions, the technology of prestressed reinforced concrete. This increases the strength and safety of the structure. In particular, the work is being carried out without stopping traffic on the Small Ring Road and the railway.

“This is an inexpensive, reliable, convenient technology for our people. We will build bridges in many more places with an eye on the future. Therefore, we need to bring specialists and students here, show them the process, teach them modern technologies”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

A new six-kilometer road is being built from Kipchak Street bridge. A tunnel will be built at the intersection with Tashkent Ring Road. Thus, Chuponota street in Chilanzar district and Kipchak street in Sergeli district will be connected.

Currently, cars moving from Sergeli district to the city center and back mainly use one road – Yangi Sergeli Street. In this regard, there are always traffic jams here.

The new six-lane bridge and road will have a capacity of up to 12 thousand cars per hour. As a result, the traffic congestion in Sergeli district will decrease by 50 percent, the travel time will be reduced by 20-25 minutes.

Energy-saving lamps will be installed along the roads. Green areas will be created, sidewalks and bike paths will be laid.

A presentation of a project on the development of roadside infrastructure along Yangi Uzbekiston Street in Tashkent region’s Qibray district was also held.
