The 3rd meeting of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Business Council was held

    On March 12 of this year, as part of the visit of the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic to Uzbekistan, the third meeting of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Business Council was held with the participation of representatives of the business circles of the two countries.

    The event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Umidbek Safarov, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan Temir Sariev, heads of relevant ministries and departments, industry associations, as well as about 80 representatives of the business circles of the two countries.

    The main issues on the agenda were the development of joint entrepreneurship within the framework of investments from the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund. On this issue, the Chairman of the Board of the foundation, Aziz Aaliyev, made a presentation on the activities and capabilities of the organization. In addition, the issue of opening a green corridor for perishable products, a general laboratory, sanitary inspection, additional checkpoints and an increase in rail transportation was discussed.

    As noted by the head of the CCI of the Kyrgyz Republic Temir Sariev, the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have laid a solid foundation for mutual cooperation between the two countries.

    The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan has increased 5 times over the past 5 years and by the end of 2023 amounted to almost 1 billion US dollars, of which exports - more than 630 million US dollars, and imports - more than 320 million US dollars.

    During the meeting of the Business Council, an agreement was reached on the mutual production of food products between Alaiku Organics companies from the Kyrgyz Republic and the Dairy House company from the Republic of Uzbekistan. B2B meetings of entrepreneurs were also held, where contracts were signed and a number of agreements were reached, the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry reports.
