It is noted that the new checkpoints are equipped with eight electronic gates designed for citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Passengers simply place their biometric passports on the data verification scanner and undergo the identification procedure (Face ID). After their identity is confirmed, the turnstile opens automatically. The entire process takes approximately 15–20 seconds.
The E-Gate system was first introduced at the international terminal's Departure Hall at Tashkent Airport in 2023. With this new implementation, the total number of automated gates at the capital's airport has reached 20.
The implementation of E-Gate technology significantly reduces passport control time, increases the capacity of control points, and creates additional convenience for passengers.
