The decree approved the Concept for the development of production of organic agricultural and organic food products in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Road Map for its implementation.

It has been established that the Ministry of Agriculture is an empowered to coordinate and regulate the activities of all interested organizations in the framework of organic production and good agricultural practice (Global G.A.P.).

In accordance with the Decree, the placement of crops on land allotted for organic farming is carried out in accordance with scientifically based crop rotation schemes, taking into account the requirements of organic standards, while government intervention in the distribution of crops is not allowed.

In order to organize organic agriculture and production systems based on international standards, a draft law “On the cultivation of organic agricultural products” will be developed by October 1, 2020.

In order to train specialists in the direction of “Cultivating, storing and processing organic agricultural products”, teaching materials will be developed at Tashkent State Agrarian University and student enrollment in this direction will be organized starting from the 2021/2022 academic year.
