Azim Akhmedkhadjayev, Director of the Uzatom Agency, held a meeting with Alexander Gorbachev, Regional Adviser on Nuclear Issues at the Ministry of Economy, Finance, Industrial and Digital Sovereignty of France, and Walid Fook, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Uzbekistan.

During the talks, the parties discussed cooperation with French companies, the implementation of the Agency's current projects, as well as the prospects for the development of nuclear energy in Uzbekistan.

France is considered as one of our country's key partners in Europe, both in the political and economic spheres. Cooperation in the field of nuclear energy is developing particularly actively. So, in June 2025, Uzatom and the French company Assystem signed a Memorandum of Intent providing for the creation of a joint venture.

The new structure will provide technical support for the construction of a nuclear power plant, as well as support for projects related to the development of Uzbekistan's civil nuclear program.
