Uzbekistan - Latvia: issues of cooperation in the field of digitalization of education discussed

    On September 18 of this year, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbay Sharipov held a meeting with a delegation headed by Deputy Secretary of State for Digital Transformation of the Ministry of Smart Management and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia Gatis Ozols.

    "Digitalization in education is one of the key tasks for all countries, and we are well aware that the transition to modern forms of education is not only a necessary step, but also a challenge for all of us," K. Sharipov noted. - Our ministry strives to use the opportunities provided by digital technologies in order not only to improve educational processes, but also to make science and innovation more accessible to young people.

    Gatis Ozols, in turn, highly appreciated Uzbekistan's rapid steps in the field of digitalization and expressed readiness for cooperation in this direction.

    In particular, the issues of training Uzbek researchers in the doctoral department of Riga Technical University, exchange of experience, which will contribute to the development of not only digital infrastructure in our universities, but also the creation of new educational programs focused on the future, were discussed.

    The parties agreed to explore the possibilities of applying Latvia's experience in providing digitalization services in practice by combining several higher education institutions into a single center.

    Following the meeting, the parties recognized that today's meeting is an opportunity to discuss further steps that can be taken for joint development in the field of higher education and science and expressed confidence that the dialogue will be fruitful and lead to concrete results.
