According to the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade, the parties discussed current issues of cooperation and exchanged views on prospects for its expansion.
The perspective directions of deepening the economic partnership were considered. It was noted that over the past 3 years, the trade turnover has increased 3 times, and in the first half of this year, the growth of trade turnover amounted to 9 percent compared to the same period last year. Mutual readiness to implement joint practical measures to intensify mutual trade was voiced.
The main attention was paid to prospects for the development of industrial cooperation. An agreement was reached to work out joint projects on deep processing of agricultural, fruit and vegetable products, organization of production of finished textile, leather, footwear and pharmaceutical products, household and agricultural machinery. The parties also agreed to develop and approve a roadmap for deepening industrial cooperation, indicating specific projects and partners from both countries.
Strengthening interregional cooperation, in particular between Bukhara and Lebap regions, Khorezm and Dashoguz regions were also touched upon. The prospects of holding joint events with the organization of negotiations between enterprises of the regions of the two countries were discussed.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the establishment of a joint working group to study and coordinate issues of increasing the trade turnover.
