Uzbekistan and Germany to create a modern multimodal transport and logistics center

    Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC and the large German logistics company Rhenus SE&Co. KG will create a modern multimodal transport and logistics center in the Andijan region.

    According to the press service of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC, during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Germany in September 2023, an agreement was reached between Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC and Rhenus SE&Co. KG about the construction of a modern multimodal logistics center in the Andijan region.

    According to this agreement, between Uztemiryulcontainer JSC and Rhenus SE&Co. KG a joint venture UzContargo Andijan will be created on the basis of the Andijan logistics center.

    The modern logistics center will create opportunities for multimodal transportation, container loading and unloading areas, open and closed customs warehouses, as well as heavy cargo handling.

    Investments in the project will amount to 20 million euros in the period from 2024 to 2026, which will allow the logistics center to process from 250 to 300 thousand tons of cargo annually.

    The official opening ceremony of the UzContargo Andijan joint venture is scheduled for the end of March 2024.
